Last Saturday was my second official 5K race in Seattle. This time I ran the Refuse to Abuse 5K fun run at Safeco Field. It was so much fun and it was pack. Actually, it had completely sold out weeks before the run! And everyone who participated helped raise over $18,000 for Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence programs!
It was the inaugural race, but it was so well organized and so much fun! I plan to it again next year. We got to run around the Safeco Stadium circling it outside and then side several time as we kept going up ramps till we ran the garage rooftop before heading all the way back down to the greens! I finished 30:16 with a pace of 9:46! That’s two minute better than my last 5K!
Now I can’t wait for my next race: 10k run in my own town to fund the 2013 Coupeville High Graduates Senior Trip!
