As part of my workout schedule, Saturdays are my full body workout where I try to hit all my muscle zones with 4-5 circuits of 2-4 exercise. Last saturday’s workout was pretty good until I got myself distracted about driving all the way to the island. It’s only an hour drive, but I tend to get a bit anxious about long drives out into the countryside. Anyhow… here is the workout I got in:

10-15 minute warm up run

Circuit 1: (3-4 sets)

  • 12-15 Walking Lunges with weights
  • 12-15 Straight Leg Deadlifts

Circuit 2:

  • 12 Plate Front Raise
  • 12 EZ Bar Standing Shoulder Press

Circuit 3:

  • 12 Barbell Squats
  • 15 Body Squat Jumps

Circuit 4:

  • 12 Rope Face Pulls
  • 12 Rope Pull Downs

Circuit 5:

  • 12-15 Leg Press
  • 12-15 Calf Press

Because the gym tend to be pack before they open (I go to Anytime Fitness) on Saturdays, I try to keep my circuits within one machine or one machine and one set of weights. My gym is a lot smaller than other places so I don’t like to hog machines like other gym rats.
